He holds a degree in Medicine from the Federal University of Paraná (2000) and a PhD and post-doctorate in Health Sciences from the University of São Paulo School of Medicine (2014).
He is currently a Collaborating Professor at the University of São Paulo School of Medicine and an Attending Physician in the Hospital Infection Control Unit of the Heart Institute and the Division of Infectious and Parasitic Diseases at the Hospital das Clínicas of the University of São Paulo School of Medicine.
