USP Graduate programs are funded by agencies of funding research and human resource training, namely:\u00a0CAPES<\/a>,\u00a0CNPq<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0FAPESP,<\/a>\u00a0 which offer scholarships for the enrolled students.<\/p>

The Graduate Program counts on the support of scholarships from CAPES Social Demand (7 scholarships), CNPq (2 scholarships), as provided in their own criteria and requirements for granting and\/or renewing scholarships\u00a0Crit\u00e9rios_e_requisitos_para_concess\u00e3o_e\/ou_renova\u00e7\u00e3o_de_bolsas-cirurgia\u00a0<\/a>(pdf). The resources coming from the bench fee of CNPq scholarships may be used according to the\u00a0Information for the use of bench fee\u00a0<\/a>(pdf).<\/p>

Student should make their request for scholarship during the enrollment period using a specific form and deliver it at the Program office.<\/p>

The Program Scholarship Committee is responsible for selecting, granting and following scholarship holders.<\/p>

Scholarship holders from the Social Demand Program and CNPq must take the teaching internship, called Teaching Improvement Program (Programa de Aperfei\u00e7oamento de Ensino \u2013 PAE<\/a>), which is an integral part of the training of PhD students, aiming to prepare them for the teaching profession and to qualify undergraduate education. From the 1st<\/sup>\u00a0request for scholarship renewal on, it will be confirmed if the student is taking the course and\/or performing the teaching internship.<\/p>

The scholarships offered by FAPESP are granted directly to the student, upon advisor\u2019s request.<\/p>

Through specific programs, CAPES and CNPq offer scholarships that enable PhD students to develop part of their thesis work in foreign institutions.<\/p>

Among the specific programs, advisees will be able to perform the Institutional Program of Overseas Sandwich Doctorate (Programa Institucional de Doutorado Sandu\u00edche no Exterior,\u00a0PDSE<\/a>) from CAPES.<\/p>
